Standing Out

red shoes

This newest post goes along with this photograph, I do need to stop and go ahead and apologize to my dad and my wife as they are not in this particular picture but this is the only one I had that would work.  The picture was from around a year ago and we decided to go out and take some family pictures, you have my brother on the left, my mom in the middle, and myself on the right side.  The one feature about this picture that I will always remember, is that I stood out.  I stood out big time, and it was from those red shoes I was wearing.  Now for me personally, the last thing I like to do is stand out, for the longest time I have had this mind-set that life would be so much easier if I just blended in and people didn’t notice me.  I am starting to realize more and more that this is not the way God intended anyone to live there lives.

Romans 12:2 says this, Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.  Ephesians 2:10, For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.  God has created each and every one of us different, so that we can stand out and offer the gifts and knowledge that He has given us.  Don’t hide what God has given you under a rock, but use it and let the people around you, whether it be at work, school, or wherever, know who God is through you.
