The problem most people have is that they “try” to be good people. What do I mean by that, they want to take the end result of having God in their life just minus God. And what everyone is going to find out is that you can’t have love and compassion and grace and forgiveness like God without God…it just won’t work.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-9

From the verse above we can see that throughout our day, God should be on our mind and heart. The way we live and act is what people all around us will see, it speaks much louder than us just saying that I’m a Christian. Now days so many people claim to be “Christians” that just claiming to be one is so diluted, we need to live like God and let God shine through us.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
Colossians 3:23-24

This verse just sums it up, the good face and act you are trying to put on, that is for the people around you and God.  You need to truly know God and put Him first in everything you do, then and only then will your life really reflect the works of Christ.  Men won’t reward you, but God will. God will always love you and provide for you.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God?  Don’t fool yourselves.  Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people–none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

From the passage above, it clearly lays out that people living in sin WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God.  You cannot be basking in sin and be a true Christian, someone who walks with God and claims to be His child has a desire to live and be like God.  Galatians 2:20, My old self has been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer i who live, but Christ lives in me.  So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Strive to know God and know His word!
