Headed to work again, and I heard this passage from the Bible. The passage was from Numbers 9:15-23. Now feel free to read through it, but what jumped out to me was relevant then and is definitely still relevant today!
The passage talks about the Israelites following the pillar of cloud or the pillar of fire. For nine verses, the author goes back and forth back and forth about the the Israelites not moving until they were told to based on the pillar (which is God).
The take away is this, the Israelites listened to the commands of God, but better yet, they OBEYED!
Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. At the LORD’S COMMAND they encamped, and at the LORD’S COMMAND they set out. They OBEYED the Lord’s order, in accordance with his command through Moses. Numbers 9:22-23
Is this reflective in our life today? Do we do as God says? Going when He wants us to and staying when He wants us to?
I always have to go back to this verse in Luke, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46
We as Followers of Christ have to have that obedient heart and obedient mind. This mind set that says, “it’s not about me and what I want Lord, whatever You want I’ll do!”
