So this morning, as I was eating breakfast, I realized that my attitude can sometimes alter the attitudes of others. You may stop and think to yourself, “well ya, sure, everyone knows that.” But how often do we live in such a way that creates this bad or negative environment?
I post this to recount one instance, where a conversation with someone else left me feeling anger, jealousy, and just an overall bad taste in my mouth. Now some of you may say, “well I’m stronger than that, I won’t be persuaded to act in such a way.” But the thing is, is that statement really true? How many times do you actually stop and think about it? Because next time I challenge you to stop and look at the situation from two perspectives, the positive and uplifting way, and then the other way.
Proverbs 17:22 says, a joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Now this verse can pertain to what our attitudes do to ourselves as well as the attitudes of others. Don’t put someone’s day in the wrong motion, our words are so powerful. Brothers and sisters in Christ, we of all people should be the uplifting ones, helping to carry each other though thick and thin.
