Complete Life Change

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 2 Corinthains 5:17-18
So this post was inspired this morning, 11/20/2016, while at church down in Georgia. So we were down in Georgia for my wife’s mom, she isn’t doing to well, so we came down to see her and family, and try to help out in any way possible.

I’m going to go back a few days previous to this and truly help you understand what brought this thought up. So I work at a very large retailer, I am one of the managers, so trying to get off this time of the year was a very funny thought to me. So this Thursday, 11/24/2016, is Thanksgiving. But not only that, that is the evening that my job starts its “Black Friday” sales. So not only that, but the days and weekend previous to Thanksgiving, we are going to be extremely busy and have a very heavy track flow. Plus, after Thansgiving we are continuing our countdown to Christmas Day, which is also going to be extremely busy and hectic. So again, wanting to be off during this time was the last thing on my mind.

At first my wife and I were planning on going down a few days after Thanksgiving Day weekend, and staying for a week maybe week in a half. So after I had explained this to the proper people, they seemed a little hesitant with me going through with it. Now in this same day, I get a message from my wife and she tells me that she really needs to go down now, just due to the fact that her mom isn’t doing well.

So then I come to the point when I am convicted by the Holy Spirit, that it is time for me to go down as well with my wife and new baby, because my family needs me. I believe this is the first time that I have truly put work aside to focus on something else. Was I terrified to talk to that same person, you bet, but I felt like that is what I had to do. Between the Holy Spirit convicting me and my conversation with the dad, I have no doubt that I made the right decision. (Love you dad)

The Holy Spirit orchestrated numerous instances that night and how things unraveled…He has a tendency to do that.

Why do I say all this? Re-read that verse up top…it clearly lays out what we are to look like after we accept Jesus Christ into our life. The old you passes away and He brings out a new creation. We as Followers of Christ have to allow the Holy Spirit to work in and though us and to be obedient to His calling.

God will always take care of you…no matter what it is and what it may look like, you are only looking at it through your human eyes, you can’t see everything that God can see.

I know that since December 2015, God has been changing and reshaping and then reshaping my life in ways that I had no idea He was going to do. He has pushed me further and further to the point where I have to have dependence on Him. I have no doubt that God is definitely not done reshaping my life and the life of my family.

My challenge to anyone reading this…look back and ponder on what Christ has done in and though your life. Reflect on the radical ways that the Holy Spirit has moved in you. I am willing to say that if you are a true Follower of Christ, there is going to be change in your life, if you haven’t experienced a change or a time when sacrifice has been made for Christ, spend time in prayer and examine your life.

Again, talk to me and share your thoughts, I’ll help in any way possible.
